Man said, “‘You have so many good things stored up for many years, rest, eat, be merry!’ But God said to him, ’You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you; and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?’ Thus will it be for the one who stores up reassure for himself but is not rich in what matters to God.” Lk 12:19-21
When Ludvig Nobel died in 1888, some periodicals mistakenly published a death announcement of his living brother Alfred, "The merchant with death is dead." Alfred Nobel did not read his own obituary easily, as it negatively summarized his life efforts. Probably also this unpleasant experience had become the reason for the founding of the Nobel Prize, which recognizes scientific research, technical discoveries, contribution to humanity and development of humanity. It is important to get feedback. Today's Word of God offers us such feedback.
What would your obituary look like? How would your life efforts be summarized; your contribution to build the kingdom of God? What would you like it to say?
"Human praise is just a bubble. Therefore, let us not be afraid of failure to start what the Lord of our life expects from us." St. Arnold Janssen
