On December 10, 2018, the Sisters and their volunteers enjoyed a first-class show by Johnny Fontaine (aka William Beasock of Munhall, PA). In his 50 years career, Johnny performed in places like "The Sands" in Las Vegas. With the help of Mary, his neighbor, he set up his sound system and the show began in the Sisters' Community Room.
Johnny's style resembles that of other greats like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He moved through the audience as he sang, making each person feel special. He sang favorite Christmas carols and beloved song of bygone days, sharing personal memories / stories and bits of interesting information about popular entertainers, some who have already died.
After the "9-11" terror attacks on our country, Johnny made a resolution to entertain at 100 nursing homes in the year following the tragedy ... and he did!
Johnny is more that a man with a special voice. Even after suffering from a stroke 2 years ago, he continues to work at sharing his gift with his favorite audience - the sick and the elderly, the "sometimes forgotten ones."
