Cloister Day 2019

TO JESUS THROUGH MARY

Was the theme of the 2019 Cloister Day, held on June 18, 2019.
The most fruitful day began with Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m.Youth did all the Liturgical Ministries. They sang and played special instrumentsfor the Entrance son, Offertory and Communion Meditation. Our unique Offertory Procession consisted of twins and others. Triplets were, also, present.

Following Holy Mass, in St. Anne's Hall, we had the opening ceremony. Sister Joanne explained the meaning of the theme=To Jesus Through Mary. Sister Geraldine and Sister Michaela put us in the "Mary Spirit" with their rendition of "Ave Maria". The main speaker was a Chief of Police from Monongahela. He gave the youth a few pointers on Safety.

We proceeded with the day's activities. Our youth enjoyed a Sing-Along Music Show about the Holy Mass. We moved on with individual activities. Sister Jean explained the steps to Canonization and the three types of Relocs. She showed them the Relic of Blessed Alphonse Marie. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by our kitchen ladies. Sister Joanne led an indoor/outdoor tour with some added features=explanation of the Papal Flag=a visit with "Petie", the bird.

Sister Monica introduced Blessed Alphonse Marie with song a writing poetry about her. After Sister Monica said that Blessed Alphonse Marie had difficulty with a learning, a little boy said: "Blessed Alphonse Marie, I am smart in school, but help me to learn how to pray!"
 
The youth listened, attentively, while Pat and Kate told them about St. Michael in "Mercy, Heaven's Weapon." Melissa danced with the Dynamic Dancers to the melody of "Twistin Saints." Theresa and Nina did Beady Craft making Rosary Bracelets using glow-in-the-dark bands.

Back to chapel with Pat and Kate leading youth, parents and firends with the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Mission Rosary and to view the 225 foot Rosary that Pat and her husband made.

The highlight of Cloister Day was the enteraiment by the "Tweens" who gave a flashback of the Cloister Day Themes from 2014 to 2019.
Following the entertainment, all enjoyed a party, ice cream social and fellowship with Parents and Frisnds!

JESUS I TRUST IN YOU

On June 15, 2018, boys and girls, about 30 children, ages 8-12, and a few teen-age helpers met in the Motherhouse of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer. The focus was on Divine Mercy with the theme: JESUS I TRUST IN YOU.

Soon after arrival, Holy Mass, focused on God's Mercy, was celebrated. The children took active part in all the Liturgical ministries, singing and playing various instruments. 
After opening ceremony, according to the theme of the day, the history and the meaning of the Divine Mercy were explained to the children. During the day, there were special activities taught by the Sisters and lay adults which children liked very much. The children made the tour of the Divine Sister Motherhouse. They trained their fingers by doing the beady craft and the God Cross. They came to know how the Divne Mercy affected the life of Mother Alphonse Marie. The "Special Bread Personification" presentation showed them the esential of the Holy Communion. Various kinds o fun and dance performed by children were amazing. The Sisters were delighted to see the children talents.
At the Divine Mercy Hour, children were acquainted with the Divine Mercy Chaplet in song and motion.
The day ended with an entertainment by the Children followed by an Ice Cream Social in fellowship with parents and friends.

Cloister Day 2017

SMILE, GOD LOVES YOU

On this special day, on June 20, 2017, called "Cloister Day" youth, boys and girls, about 26 children, ages 8-12, including a few teen-age helpers, put aside their day-to-day routine to spend the day with the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer.  
The day begun with Holy Mass. The children did all the Liturgical ministries, singing and playing special instruments. Our unique Offertory Procession consisted of twins and triplets. This Liturgical dancers were great!
During the day, there were special activities taught by the Sisters and lay adults which children liked very much. They were acquainted with the Divine Mercy Chaplet in song and motion.
The day ended with an entertainment by the Children followed by an Ice Cream Social.
The Cloister Day was really Great Day!

A Joyful Event - Cloister Day

TASTE AND SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD

On June 21, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a group of enthusiastic youth came to Divine Redeemer Motherhouse to spend the day with the Sisters to get acquainted.
This special Day began with Holy Mass in which the youth did all the Liturgical Ministries and played in a Mini Band for the Communion Meditation. The Offertory Procession consisted of special multiples. Parents joined us at 3:00 PM for the Mercy Chaplet in song and motion. This was followed by a short entertainment in St. Anne's Hall with an Ice Cream Social and tasting a Mission Rosary made with colored cupcakes.
Everyone went home revitalized and ready to return in June, 2017!
The day was complete when an eight year old said: "This is the best day of my whole life"!!
