Farewell and Welcome

To whom? Farewell to the Old Year 2017 and Welcome to the New Year 2018!

The last day of the Year “2017” came very fast. As is customary, this day was for us a Recollection day. After Holy Mass our Priest, Father Kirby, exposed Blessed Sacrament. All day we THANKED God for His many graces, which we received during the past year and ask Him for pardon.

After dinner we began to say goodbye to the Old Year by two short skits.
How to divide one egg between three people? This is not easy. Three Sisters said instruction. “Let the one who says the best thought from the Bible eat the egg.” Does anything come to your mind? The Sisters said:
1. “Put off your old self” and she peeled the egg.
2. “You are the salt of the earth” and she salted the egg.
3. “Come and share you master’s happiness!” said the third one and ate the egg.

If you are student, you know how difficult is to satisfy the teacher. There could be several answers to one question. For example: “What do you get when you subtract 890 from 1234 and add 567 and divide the answer by 3?” The answer could be: “A Headache”.

After these humorous “questions and answers” the “Old Year 2017” as a person came to us. After while, the “New Year 2018” came also. We were reminded the events of the past year with a lot of humor.

God, we thank You for the past year and ask You to bless us with Your graces through the entire Year 2018.
