The Bust of Mother Alphonse Marie

On the occasion of the Jubilee of the 150th Anniversary of the birth for heaven of Venerable Servant of God, Mother Alphonse Marie the participants of the 16th General Chapter on July 15, 2017 became witnesses of unveiling the Bust of Mother Alphonse Marie, the Foundress of the Sisters, Associates and co-works of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer.

The Superior General addressed to the present following words: “We are honored to celebrate this Jubilee. Is it a coincidence or the management of God’s Providence?
Unequivocally, it is God’s gift to us and, at the same time, an obligation to celebrate as graciously as possible, to embrace the graces associated with it and for the next generation to make this jubilee a permanent seal.
None of us ever met our Foundress personally. We know her only from the pictures. Yet, her spirit is strong among us even today that we decided to follow Christ in her footsteps, develop her charism and share it with laity who are interested in it. We would like and also wish for the next generation to know and live from it.
Now we are witnesses of the unveiling and blessing of her Bust. By this ceremony we praise God faithfully. Mother Alphonse Marie calls us, today, to seek our Lord and His will in the midst of everyday life, for it is the way of holiness.”

In the Intercessions we asked God for help and gifts, which will strengthen and lead the Sisters, Associates and the laity of our Congregation on the right path of deep unity. We prayed that we may soon venerate Mother Alphonse Marie among the Blessed and for the Sisters and their needs of each Province and Region.

After unveiling the Bust, which depicts the image of Venerable Servant of God was it blessed and we asked our Lord to grant us the grace to come to Him with sincere love and continually enjoy the fruit of Redemption.

With great joy we celebrated Holy Mass and enjoyed the following dinner.

Let the Bust be confirmed by the words of one of the theologians: “Venerable Servant of God, Mother Alphonse Marie Eppinger is a beautiful picture of woman holiness in the 19th century. She is the mystic whose deep experience of Jesus’ love became the source of specific love of neighbor.”
